Yesterday I saw Russell Crowe in the movie Robin Hood, and the words written on the sword, “Rise and Rise again, Until Lambs Become Lions”, although not in the Bible, certainly spoke to me as a man. When asked by Little John what the words meant, Robin Hood said, “It means that we never ever, give up”.
OK. Reality check. It’s just a quote from a movie. So what’s the point? The point is that within many of the things we do in everyday life we can find, or be inspired to find, the truth of God. Even in the simplest of things, like “man’s” movie, we can find lessons to guide us living out in our walk with God.
So this is the truth I found; Rise and Rise again…in order to rise you must first be down. As a man there are many times we are knocked down. And many times we just don’t have the power to rise again.
However we are told “My power is sufficient” for you to rise again and again. And through my power you will rise and rise again until the one that came as Lamb, returns as a Lion at which time we will all be more than conquers in Him (Jesus Christ). Never… ever… give up!
And besides all that, I like Russell Crow, and Maid Marion is not at all what you have been led to believe. If sword fights with blood and arrows through the neck bother you, I don’t recommend it. But over all I think this is a good “man” kind of movie.
