We know way more about God than we living! I hear people say “I want to hear some deeper insights from the teaching on Sunday”. A preacher once preached the same message on giving (almost word for word) for 5 weeks in a row. One of his members asked him, “When are you going to preach a different message?” His reply, “When you start doing something with this one”. “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22). GET IT?

Yesterday we learned that the Holy Spirit will empower us to share Jesus. As strange as this may seem, inviting people to church doesn’t start with inviting people to church. Jesus always connected in a personal way before He called them to be disciples. Do something that good for you and some else, make a friend today, then invite them to church tomorrow.

I will never forget the time I was in Rome standing in the middle of the Sistine Chapel. I was packed in there with several hundred people but when I looked up it was as if everything went totally silent and suddenly I was ushered into the presence of my Creator. (more…)

Have you ever felt when it comes to seeing and connecting to God you are missing out? You hear it all the time from the stage on Sunday, in your life group during the week, even read about it in books and magazines, people saying, “I saw God in an awesome way this week”, “God spoke to me”, “I saw God do something great yesterday.” It sounds like God connecting up with everyone around…except you. Over the years I have learned that… God answers prayers to let me know He can meet my every need, and sometimes He don’t to let me know He is all I need!

As I talk with so many couples that have marital issues one common denominator seems to be “They just will not forgive me. I know I have made a mistake, I have apologized and done everything I can do but they can’t seem to get past it.” (more…)

GOT PLANS FOR THE NEW YEAR? I know New Years is weeks away but every year about this time I start to look back and see what worked and what didn’t work in my life. Black Friday; I think it’s accurately named, not because it takes the stores out of the red and puts them in the black, but because it spells financial dark days ahead for so many people.. Black Friday, also known as the biggest shopping day of the year, is upon us. In fact it is so much “upon us” for a lot of people it will take until June or July of the next year to get it off.
