As Leaders We Should Always Be Up Or Getting Back Up; today I’m getting back up

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

You ever had one of those days when you want to throw up your hands and quit. I think all of us at times have had what I call a “Solomon Day”; when we feel like it’s “Meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless” (Ecclesiastes 1:2). Yesterday I had one of those days.
But here it is; outward circumstances should never direct our actions…God should!
It all comes down to this, we can’t control what other people do or say to us or about us, but what we can control is how it’s going to affect our day. Even after yesterday I can still say, “Today is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice in it”.
The fact is, you will get knocked down, but as Christ followers we should always be up or getting back up. Today I’m getting back up.

If normal life isn’t workingfor you, get with us this Sunday and let’s get “W.E.I.R.D.”

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Are you weird? For the first 25 years of my life I would’ve been offended if you called me weird; I wanted what normal people in this world wanted; money, big house, nice cars, nice clothes, and bigger toys. And I almost ended up like most people in the world, burned out, in debt, and divorced. Then something happened, I become an “alien”. (“…As aliens and strangers in the world… Live such good lives….” 1 Peter 2:11-12). Get with us this coming Sunday, get over normal, and get “W.E.I.R.D.” and start being Walking Examples In Righteous Daily

It’s not righteous living that offends non believers; it’s the self-righteous attitude…

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Before I accepted Christ I respected and even wanted to imitate a person living a “Christ Like” life; even though I didn’t know anything about Christ. We are told not to think to highly of ourselves (Romans 12:3) because, trust me, a non-believer knows when some looks down on them…for any reason.

In order to “BECOME”we have to first “OVERCOME”; Ask some one who knows you well…

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

In order to become who God wants us to be, who we want to be, we need to first overcome the things that are holding us back(Romans 12:21). I have found the best way to determine the things that hold me back is to ask those people that know me best. In order to do that you will need to give them unbridled permission to tell you things that they see in your life that needs improving without making excuses or striking back. Take those things, pray about them, set things in place that will help you overcome them, while you are focusing on what you want to become.

This week I asked Jeane what are some things I need to overcome, she said, “When you are with me, be with me.” In other words don’t be texting, emailing or talking on the phone. What are some things I can do to make that happen? When we go to lunch I’m now going to turn off my phone. When we are together, driving or walking, I am going to ask her questions about her day, her feelings, and her challenges.

This is one of those things I need to overcome to become one of those things I want to be…a good husband!
