To have weaknesses is what makes us need Christ. To hide the weaknesses or project an aura of perfection seems to be what the Pharisees were all about. You didn’t act weak from the stage, you acted human, and to many of us, that was exactly what we needed to hear that morning – that we all struggle sometimes. Hats off to you Pastor, you followed as the Spirit led even though it may have been uncomfortable.

Your message "Going God's Way" was very good. You gave us a better understanding of the boundaries of God's will.

The Holy Spirit is good about being my rumble strip when I drift too far left or right. It's keeping to the straight and narrow by knowing and obeying the personal will of God for me that gives me so much trouble. What is God's will for my life? Most of us want to know the answer to that question, some of the time, along with avenues to opt out when we are inconvenienced. Is that a confession? Seriously, I am writing to give Henry Blackaby's perspective for answering this age old question.

In his Bible study "Experienceing God", Blackaby proposes that asking to know God's will for our lives is the wrong question. He says we should ask simply to know God's will, then adjust our lives to do His will. How do we know the will of God? He says to find where God is working and join Him. Blackaby's perspective puts our focus on God and not on us.

What a great way to make a point. I personally liked you adjusting the P.A system and the Offering!! We all need to have a servants heart when it comes to volunteering in the Church. We are now in a series called "God's Will." One of the best ways to find yourself in GOD'S Will is doing God's Work! When you give of yourself completely that is Tithes, Time, Study, And Spending time with GOD in Prayer. You will find it is alot easier to be in GOD'S will. Jesus gave ALL of himself and when we start giving ALL of ourselves then we will not only know GOD'S will for our lives but also How to be in the center of GOD'S will!! Thank You Pastor Larry! This is a needed series. I know it has Blessed me!!

Here is a paragraph from my book concerning one aspect of leadership that I believe is important.

"Last on the list and certainly not the least is “willingness to learn.” This, in all probability, is the most important characteristic of a leader ... any leader. Willingness to learn is really about a mindset that avails itself to discovery. If great leadership is marked by what they accomplish and contribute to the progress of a society, a church, or group, no other quality will have a greater impact on leadership than a willingness to learn. A leader willing to learn is open to discovery and will seek new, innovative, approaches to problems. A leader willing to learn is also open to self-discovery and feedback and willing to make personal changes that will contribute to their growth and development as a person and leader and to the growth and improvement of others. Willingness to learn is absolutely crucial and a fundamental requirement for anyone leading a discovery process such as the ministry and leadership development process.

Likewise, a lack of this quality (unwillingness to learn) will be the greatest hindrance to effective leadership. A leader unwilling to learn will lack many of the other qualities that define an effective leader."

Well said,Brian.
A little boy once said, "I know what BIBLE stands for; Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth."
God gave us all the basics in the Bible and we look to the Holy Spirit to give us application for specific situations as we study the basics.

It has been my experience that a playbook is only as good as it's author. In most cases a playbook works best when it has a variety of plays to help address any situations a coach or player may encounter during the course of the contest. That doesn't necessarily mean the book specifically outlines which play when but teaches you what generally works best given the condiitons. These reasons are why God's playbook is perfect. One the author is the supreme being. Second, when we turn to it's pages we will find the right direction for what we encounter as we journey through life. Some cases it may be suttle direction but still direction. A season is a journey and requires a strong playbook with a strong foundation. Life is also a journey and we have the strong playbook with the strong foundation in the word of God.
